LCD or Plasma TV?
Several years ago if you wanted the deepest blacks and blur-free motion then a plasma was the only choice but now the LCD technology has caught right up and the choice is not so clear cut.
They are both competing technologies which will give you a stunning picture in a slim widescreen format. Think of a plasma TV as having millions of microscopic fluorescent tubes which can be excited by applying electrical currents to give different colours.
LCD TVs contain tiny crystals which block out some of the light coming through from a backlight, so they work by colour subtraction. This is one reason why plasmas still just about have the edge when it comes to displaying the deepest blacks.
Both types have excellent colour accuracy, though the plasmas perform slightly better in a dim room, and LCD TVs work really well in a brighter room.
